How it works on a case

From placement to the client report

  1. Place it.

It weighs under 300 g and holds on with its built-in magnet. Set the report interval before you leave: every few seconds while you follow, every few hours while the vehicle sits.

  2. Follow it.

The map shows each position as it arrives, with speed, direction and how long ago it updated. Use it on the office computer or on your phone in the car.

  3. Get told.

Put a perimeter around the residence or the workplace and get a text when the vehicle arrives or leaves. You don't have to watch the map all day.

  4. Report it.

The Location History report lists every stop and idle time with its street address. Print it to PDF or open it in Excel for the case file.

  5. Retrieve it.

When the case closes or the battery runs low, one tap gives you driving directions to the tracker.

Built around the work, not the gadget

  • Stays out longer.

A 10,000 mAh battery, an IP65 housing and a built-in magnet. Measured across six months of trackers in real use, a full charge lasts about a month: 33 days typical.

  • Know, don't guess.

Every position comes with speed, direction, battery, signal and a "last updated" counter, so you can tell a parked vehicle from a dead signal at a glance. One click gives the street address.

  • Prove it.

Replay any stretch of time on the map, then build a Location History report with stops, idle times and addresses for the client.

  • Be told.

Perimeter texts when the tracker enters or leaves a place. Removal, vibration, low-battery and over-speed alarms on the map and in the alarm history.

  • Control it from anywhere.

Change the report interval, ask for a position now, or restart the tracker from your desk, and see each command's status in plain words.

  • Work as a team.

Share a tracker with an operative by email and choose what they can do: view it, send commands, or change its settings. Take access back at any time.

Vertex Focus

Place it once. Leave it for weeks.

The Vertex Focus carries a 10,000 mAh battery in a sealed IP65 housing with the magnet built into its base. It reports over LTE-M and NB-IoT networks with 2G fallback, and uses Wi-Fi and cell towers for a position when GPS can't see the sky.

Made by someone who does the same work

Michael Flowers has been a licensed private investigator since 2005 and a programmer since 1998. He built Triangle Tracking because the trackers and platforms he used were made by people who had never run a surveillance. He uses it on his own cases every day.

Questions investigators ask

How long does the battery last?

It depends on how often it reports. In real use, reporting a position every few minutes while the vehicle moves, a full charge lasts about a month: we measured 24 to 62 days, typically 33, over six months of trackers in service. Reporting a few times a day lets it run for months, and standby lasts up to 3 years. The battery level shows with every report.

What does $29.99 a month include?

The tracker's cellular service, the platform, the phone apps and text alerts.

Who can buy?

Licensed private investigators in the United States. At checkout you give your business name, license number and licensing state, and we check them before we ship. If we can't verify the license, we cancel the order and refund it in full.

What's in the Location History report?

Every stop and idle time with arrival, departure, duration and street address. Print it to PDF or export it to Excel or CSV.

Can my operatives see the tracker?

Share it by email and choose what they can do: view, send commands, or change settings. Remove access at any time.

Is it legal to use a GPS tracker?

It depends on your state and on the case. Some states give licensed investigators an exemption, often with conditions. North Carolina's, for example, doesn't apply if a domestic violence protective order is in effect for the person being tracked, if a court order prohibits the device, or if the use is otherwise contrary to law. Know your state's law before you place a tracker.
